This past Sunday the Brewers took on the Bombers with first place in the standing up for grabs. Taking the ball for the Brewers was McCann who was a little rusty from not pitching for a few weeks. After giving up a single to the first batter of the game, McCann got out of the first with no issues thanks to a hot double play by F. Vaughn and Nuss (Co-Players of the Week). McCann kept the Bombers at bay until the 3rd, when they scored 2 runs after a single, a double and an outfield error. The Brewers bats started the game off hot scoring 3 in the first with Behan getting hit by a pitch and stealing a base, F. Vaughn hitting a triple and J. Vaughn hitting a 2 run Home Run. The scoring for the Brewers cooled off over the next few innings, starting the fifth with the score 3-2. But then the Brewers opened the gates scoring 6 in the fifth with hits by Reynes, Meals and Hartman... a double by F. Vaughn and two 2 run Home Runes by Nuss and Goldberg. The Bombers tried to make a push in the bottom of the 5th, bringing 6 men to the plate and hitting 2 doubles. But they were only able to score 2 more. Over the next 2 innings the Brewers scored 5 more taking advantage of walks and situational hitting. The last two inning for the Bombers on the other hand was a different story with McCann finding his form striking out 2 in the 6th and Meals coming in and striking out the side in the 7th. Ending the game with a 14-4 victory for the Brewers.
