On Sunday the Brewers took on the undefeated (8-0) Union Station Bandits. This was a game the Brewers were waiting for, knowing they were going to be facing Byron Embry who was recently playing AAA ball. Embry started strong as he struck out the side in the first only giving up a hit to F. Vaughn. He continued to pitch well striking out 5 more over the next 2 innings only allowing on base runner via an error. But the Brewers started their own ace on the mound. McCann started the game off with 3 straight 1-2-3 innings striking out 5. In the 4th both teams bats started to warm up. First with the Brewers, with Behan (player of the week) leading the inning off with a single. He then stole second and eventually scored on a wild pitch. J. Vaughn was hit by a pitch and was knocked in by McCann when he burt the center fielder with a double to center. The Bandits answered in the bottom of the 4th scoring one run after Fox came around to score after hitting a one out double. The Brewers increased the lead to 3-1 in the 5th after a 2 out single by Vandas. He got all the way to 3rd after an error and a wild pitch, and was knocked in by Behan. The Bandits tied it up in the 6th after McCann gave up a leadoff walk. Then then struck out the next batter, but then game up 2 back to back hits (a single and double). Tying the game 3-3 with the go-ahead runner eventually getting to third. McCann, then buckled down and struck out the neck to batters ending the inning. After being quiet for 2 innings the Brewers bats woke back up in the 8th batting around off Embry, scoring 6 runs with both Vaughns getting hit by pitches, a single by Behan and BLAST double by Maples and triple by Woods making the score 9-3. The Brewers tacked on 2 more runs in the 9th off of McKeever with Behan (his 4th of the day), F. Vaughn and J. Vaughn all collecting hits. Meals, came in for the Brewers in relief to save the win for McCann, going 3 innings, giving up only one hit and striking out 5.
